This active series of Cloud CS-S loudspeakers have been designed for background music and announcements in for restaurant, retail, airport, church and hotel environments. They are suited to environments whereby a central amplifier is not in place, or if an unlimited number of active loudspeakers are required to be daisy-chained.
These models are self-powered using an internal two-channel Class D amplifier with integral DSP and low quiescent power consumption.
Passive versions of CS-S8A, CS-S10A, and CS-12A loudspeakers and active versions with Dante input are available.
CS-S8A 8-inch driver, 200W, 116dB
Cloud CS-S8A is an active loudspeaker that offers 200watts of continuous output power and houses an 8-inch low-frequency driver, crossover, and 1-inch high frequency compression driver. The mains-powered, two-channel amplifier has integral DSP to perform both crossover and EQ functions. The Class-D amplifier has protection against over-temperature and output DC, HF, or overcurrent.
CS-S8A has two balanced analogue inputs able to accept microphone or line level signals, along with a range of user-selectable presets to optimise the frequency response for the room and programme material in use. A level control and a mono/stereo link output for connection to further loudspeakers. All connections and controls are positioned on the rear facing panel. The analogue inputs are balanced and available on 3-pin XLR, 6.35mm TRS jack, and Euroblock connectors.
A stereo unbalanced input is also provided on a 3.5mm TRS jack. The two inputs have separate level controls, and 45dB of gain allows direct connection of dynamic microphones. The link output is balanced at line level and available on both 3-pin XLR and Euroblock connectors.
Default EQ provides a frequency response suitable for free-field applications, whilst four more EQ curves are available to suit on-wall mounting and/or various types of programme material. Stereo or mono mode is selected with a push button. In mono mode channels 1 and 2 are mixed and sent to the link output as well as the internal amplifier. In stereo mode, only channel 1 is fed to the amplifier; channel 2 is routed to the link output (at line level) for connection to another loudspeaker.
